Locality Beautification and Enhancement Competition | Meghalaya at 50
As part of the ‘Locality Beautification and Enhancement Competition’ to aid localities to carry forward various activities, Shri. Conrad K. Sangma, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya in the presence of Shri. Sniawbhalang Dhar, Minister of Commerce & Industries Meghalaya, distributed cheques worth ₹1.50 Cr to 34 localities in Shillong & ₹5.40 Lakhs to 8 localities from Jowai as catalytic fund.
The Meghalaya Homestay Scheme was also launched, which will facilitate growth of quality tourist infrastructure. Through this Tourism & PMEGP convergence model, the state’s entrepreneurs can avail 70% subsidy for setting up of homestays in rural areas for a project cost of ₹10 Lakhs & 50% in urban areas.
