Meghalaya@50 presents a series that highlights the important dates and events that led to the formation of our State of Meghalaya.

2nd April 1970 - The Parliament brought into force the Assam Re-organisation (Meghalaya) Act, 1969. The then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi inaugurated the new autonomous state. The new ministry included Capt. Williamson. A. Sangma, Mr. Stanley Nichols Roy, Mr. Edwin Bareh, Mr. Stanford Marak and Mr. B.B. Lyngdoh.
